Dr. David R. Musselman

Parin Parikh, M.D., FACC, is a native Texan, having grown up in Plano and attended Plano Senior High School. He graduated from Yale University in New Haven, Conn., with honors and obtained his medical degree at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. He stayed in New York to complete his general and interventional cardiology fellowship at NYU Langone Medical Center, where he served as chief fellow in interventional cardiology.Parikh is one of the only cardiologists in North Texas to obtain six board certifications: interventional cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, internal medicine, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and registered physician in vascular interpretation. He also has advanced training in complex coronary and peripheral stenting and interventions. Parikh has special training in performing cardiac catheterization procedures from the wrist (radial artery catheterization), which can be safer and more comfortable for patients than the traditional femoral (groin) approach. Currently, less than five percent of the procedures in the United States are being performed using this new, innovative approach.Parikh also has specialty training in non-invasive cardiac and vascular imaging, including echocardiography, stress tests, nuclear medicine and peripheral vascular ultrasound studies. His areas of clinical expertise include coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease (including diabetic ulcers), critical limb ischemia, valvular heart disease, venous disease, cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. Parikh is also conversant in Spanish.Parikh and his wife live in Dallas, and feel blessed to be close to over 40 extended family members in the DFW Metroplex. Jorge Cheirif, M.D., was born and raised in Mexico City. He obtained his medical degree from the National University of Mexico and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.Cheirif is the director of the non-invasive cardiology lab, medical director of the Hispanic Initiative, and immediate past president and director of the Behavioral Event Review Committee (BERC) at Texas Health Dallas. He also serves as chair of the Heart & Vascular Accreditation Case Manager (HV-ACM) strategy committee. He is board-certified in cardiovascular diseases and internal medicine, focusing on consultative cardiology, echocardiography, CT angiography and cardiac catheterization.Cheirif was on the American Heart Association local affiliate board of directors for two years; has received the Clinician Scientist Award from the American Heart Association; and was named Teacher of the Year by Ochsner Clinic, Texas Health Dallas, and Baylor College of Medicine. In addition, he has been named to Best Doctors in Dallas and Texas Super Doctors for 10 years. Cheirif speaks Spanish, Yiddish and Hebrew, and lives in Dallas with his wife, Heidy. Srinivas N. Paranandi, M.D., is the director of the Imaging Center at the Cardiac & Vascular Center of North Texas. He is fellowship-trained in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. He completed his medical training in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, which is recognized and ranked as the nation's top hospital in heart care by U.S. News & World Report</em> for the past couple of decades. After several years of medical practice in Ohio, Dr. Paranandi moved to Texas at the end of 1999.He is board-certified in eight different specialties including Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Disease, and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine; CT Angiography by the Certification Board of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography; Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography; Nuclear Cardiology by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology; and Peripheral Vascular Medicine and Peripheral Endovascular Intervention by the American Board of Vascular Medicine. He remains up-to-date in all these medical specialty areas by maintaining current recertifications.Dr. Paranandi's clinical interests and efforts have expanded his professional expertise to include diagnostic imaging (CT, Echo, Nuclear Cardiology) and peripheral vascular medicine and interventions.
